Completely agree. I've never understood this criticism, and finally decided it was just pettiness or some kind of jealousy. What can now be achieved with CGI is utterly amazing. We should also recognize the role of the actors in "selling" these sequences. I read an interview where Melissa said it was a challenge because when she shot the scene with Parasite she was acting with only tennis balls, and she too was amazed at the results. But you can't tell that when watching it; her performance is seamless and "real." Yet another example of an exceptional actor at the top of her game. Yes, I too hope this will be on the S2 DVD. I am assuming that the crossovers will also be included, especially the recent musical.

Well said jacksc, you do have to appreciate the hard work that's put in. I love the horizontal flying sequences and sincerely appreciate the time and effort of Melissa (and Helen Slater before her who spent lots and lots of time on the wires for some excellent flying scenes).

Look back 60 years. Compare with the Captain Z-Ro time machine, Rocky Jones Space Ranger's spaceship, Commando Cody's spaceship, or the most heavily special-effects laden Superman episode of the 1950s era "Panic in the Sky". (And, yes, I did watch them all when they first came out.) (Of course, these were all in living black and white.) Or step forward a few decades to the Japanese live-action Spiderman, complete with the Spiderman giant combat mecha and its explosive throwing katana.) It is amazing what progress has done.

Excellent work by the VFX team - I never thought that the scene where Parasite and Supergirl fought with both their hands were all CGI. Anyone who says "Supergirl has bad VFX" is either blind or doesn't want to admit it.

One thing I was a little disappointed with in the season 1 Blu-ray/DVD, was with the exception of deleted scenes and bloopers, almost all the extras were previously released online. I hope with the Season 2 Blu-ray/DVD release that it will contain never before seen documentaries, behind the scenes etc.

Incredible effects on Supergirl. This show is so on the roll. Really hope a piece like this or a longer version of this is on the Blu-Ray release for season 2. By the way what is this fabulous music in the video from ?

Wow - that video was AWESOME!!! The VFX crew is doing fantastic work. Thank you for showing us this video, it makes you stand back and say - wow, sometimes we really forget to say thank you for all the work people do to bring us entertainment. Even Melissa being shown from the ground with wind blowing in her hair with the green screens. The VFX crew the actresses and actors all deserve a round of applause - how often we forget to do that. Also, a thank you to this website, Supergirl TV for keeping us entertained during this break in episodes.

DVD Extra

This no doubt has DVD extra written all over it. Don't be surprised if this or something like it pops up on the Season 2 DVD along with the other suspects like deleted scenes, other extras and my favorite the blooper reel. Speaking of which The Flash for season 2 did a VERY funny one, including a take on the 1990 Flash intro, and even doing a take on the Road Runner cartoons. I hope Supergirl can do something like a hybrid of the 1984 Supergirl movie/Wonder Woman comic book intro as both Helen Slater and Lynda Carter have been prominently featured. BUT, it is months away.
