This is an pretty extensive list but it's a good read.
My only wishes for Season 3 are more Supergirl, more of Kara as a reporter, less relationship drama and don't change the costume.
Have a read of the article and feel free to share your wants and desires of Season 3.

Wow... I actually could agree with most of those recommendations. I actually wouldn't mind a costume change. Must be an art teacher thang.... Or perhaps, comes from growing up in the military...always change.
But, certainly don't want a more military style cape. Lol Maybe give her a "winter" costume when we see the season change in National City....not that SHE gets cold, being her and all... but I get cold just watching her. lol
But yeah... I agree that there's a reason, other than just the switch to The CW that 4 million less people watch. How do you lose 4 million people from JUST a channel change? When they made the switch, I remember thinking... "Oh man, their viewership numbers are going to blow THE CW minds!! No way it won't be the #1 show on that station. Take THAT, Flash!!" Mmmmm....uh... Oops.
They'll figure it out, though. The cast is too incredible for kinks to not be able to work themselves out.
If they REALLY wanna know how to bring the ratings back up, go back to the original way her eyes glowed the first few seconds after her original heat vision. Am I right? and I right? Bet they lost a solid 1.5 million viewers just from THAT ? No but really... They ruined the super cool effect. dang them

My own personal view that the show lacks a certain gravitas given the exit of Calista Flockhart....I'd advocate bumping Helen Slater up to prime cast in season three. Maybe Alex could start rehab and Mom could move in to help her transition to sober living?
As for a costume change...please no armor, MB would look faintly ridiculous in armor quite frankly.

Would her costume in this Injustice 2 trailer be too much?
Injustice 2
If there will be something for everyone, they can't please all. My thinking nowadays is as long as the show will keep airing 22-23 episodes per year, I'll be happy (though they gotta do something about Guardian and Catco - that's the hypocrite in me talking LOL).

Nice article. Thanks for posting.
Let's see how S2 concludes before determining what to include or omit in S3. As for the suit, leave it alone. Do not tinker with the one constant that actually works.

Yeah I absolutely agree - the costume is just too perfect on Melissa to tinker with, in my opinion.

Pretty extensive list. I think some people tuned out for political and social reasons, we saw that on this site. The producers have said this show was chosen to tackle social issues of the day and in the current polarized world we live in that's going to turn some people off.
15) I like the costume as is. Definitely don't want anything more militaristic. Kara's not a soldier.
14) I think they are actually trying to have her become a leader this season. She's just not quite ready yet. No to Kara leading a group of alien recruits. I like the alien population just wanting to be regular people, not everyone has to be a hero. More characters is not what we need.
13) A mistake that can't be fixed is a good idea.
12) Exit Sanvers not sure about that, I fear the backlash. Only if it were nobody's fault and Alex's ends things. They would have to find a way to keep Maggie around so Alex has to still work with her. I'm going to vote no on ending Sanvers.
11) I like the idea of the villain being a puzzle Kara has to figure out as the season unfolds.
10) I think that's the idea with making Lena a regular. Lena should have good intentions. She should be make mistakes like a project she wants to be used for good being used in ways she doesn't agree with.
9) Without Cat CatCo isn't working.
8) I think the upcoming "Ace Reporter" is starting to address how bad a reporter Kara has been.
7) I could go for a central goal depending on what it is.
6) Winn has grown this season.
5) No to space travel.
4) Miss Martian coming back depends on the actress availability.
3) I'm just not sure what to do with James.
2) I'd like to see Mon-El's story not only connected to Kara's.
1) Just let Kara and Mon-El be together and support each other. Even a hero needs someone to come home to. Because she's so powerful Kara needs someone to ground her, we are seeing that this year in her inability to see things from others point of view. Kara doesn't want to be a god but with her powers she could start acting like one "absolute power corrupts absolutely" we saw that can happen in "falling". I actually think Mon-El can ground her better than James could. Let the conflicts be things outside their relationship.
The danger with this list is it wants to give everyone a important arcs and that's just not possible with real world time constraints. I can just hear the massive vocal complaints about screen time if Winn, James, Mon-El, and Lena all get big arcs. It's a testament to the writers that we are so interested in supporting characters that we want more of them but not everyone can have a big arc at once. I want the crossovers to be done more mindfully, they can be a drain on all shows and are a huge writing challenge.

I agree with the vast majority on the list except for the James arc ... I hate to say it but I think the writers gave up their chance to be able to bring him solidly back into the series . Of course I can almost guarantee everyone that he is gonna be back next season as guardian. In fact I think the writers will even double down on that. As someone has already said somewhere on this site that the showrunner's and writers sometimes tend to go directly opposed to what the fans are saying. I think this is definitely going to be one of those times.

There are some good ideas in this article. I do agree for 12 of them so
But even if i do really like the suit, i want a refresh too. One, for the confort of the actress herself (like evrafter said) and too i like changes.
But no going back to season 1. I do miss some aspect of it and not everything is good in season 2, but i enjoy most of it so. Just keep going to find the Supergirl style.
I strongly agree with the fact that Kara needs to be a leader, but i also know that we are only in season 2 of at least 4 (
) from her becoming The super heroin, she need space to progress.

As far as the suit I don't mind a few changes here and there but do not lose the skirt the skirt stays as is .

I have to totally disagree with this the gravitas of this series never came from Calista Flockhart it comes from Melissa Benoist .

I generally agree with most of what the author this article advocates. Brainiac would be a very good ( and very powerful) long-term villain to bring in. Superman could never defeat him in the comics - he always showed up again. Forget the "solar flare" that worked so well against Red Tornado - heat vision bounced right off of Brainiac! (Clark already tried it, as you can see in the clip from Action Comics 275 that I've attached) Same with Mr. Mxyzptlk, who always livens (and lightens) things up whenever he shows up again (every 90 days in the comics). Sanvers could be deemphasized, but we need to keep Maggie around. She gives Kara a direct line into the NCPD (with someone who knows her secret identity) - sort of like what Batman has with Commissioner Gordon. Moving "Kara the reporter" to another publication is a good idea. She needs to learn how to be a real journalist, and what that entails. (Of course, Clark can help with that - even if its only by IM). I agree Winn should have a greater role, and be more independent. There's a lot of things he could come up with on his own that could be used by the DEO - Something like Q in the James Bond movies.I'd like to see a private detective character brought on board, too - someone who is not bound by the same rules as the DEO or NCPD officers. A PI could help Kara out sometimes, and also sometimes get them both in trouble! I'm OK with James / Guardian staying around in a supporting role, perhaps teaming up with Winn and Mon-El. And I totally agree with point #1: Less romance and more comic-book action!

As much as I like Star Trek, Star Wars, even Farscape... I think I'd rather keep the action on Earth. I'm still hoping for more human baddies... Maybe a terrorist cell like what's been going down on Blindspot and 24. Yes... Kara takes out robbers pretty quickly...but the RIGHT kind of humans would be formadible. I think that's why I've enjoyed the Cadmus story line so much. I actually liked it better when aliens weren't galavanting around National City. I miss the Fort Rozz, mysterious UFO/alien encounter feel of last season. The jailer episode, with the scene of Chyler and Jonn posing as FBI down at the precinct just felt more "gritty"...more real to me. Molder/Scully style.

15. The costume is fine as-is. If they must change something, give her the yellow background on the S. Even that is unnecessary, though.
12. Keep Sanvers as endgame, but if there is a temporary breakup or something like that, I wouldn’t mind too much.
11. I was under the impression that DC had reserved Brainiac for the movies. Even if they haven’t, Supergirl already has Brainiac 8 as an established villain from season 1. Bring her back and make her more powerful, rather than introducing another evil Brainiac.
10. Promoting Katie McGrath from recurring to regular should solve this one.
8/9. If the producers can’t convince Calista Flockhart to come back on the show on a semi-regular basis, I’m not sure I’ll stick around for season 3. In season 1, Kara’s relationship with Cat was the second most important relationship in her life (Alex being most important), and it’s now completely gone. Kara Danvers needs mentorship, and Snapper Carr isn’t getting the job done.
5. Keep the show on Earth, not outer space.
4. Bring back Miss Martian ASAP.
2. Mon-El working with Guardian might be sort of okay. Maybe.
1. The romance stories need to be dialed WAY back.

"Supergirl already has Brainiac 8 as an established villain from season 1. Bring her back and make her more powerful,"
That's right - Indigo is Braniac 8! (I forgot about that - duh!) Sure, bring Indigo back - and she could have gained even more power n the meantime, and become more invulnerable.

I agree- the only thing I might like to see is the "S" shield on the back of the cape, like original Silver Age Supergirl had. But yes, even that's unnecessary"

Going into season 3, I like to see new people come in to be a threat not just to a particular person like Arrow, Flash and Supergirl as most of the DC Berlanti based shows focus on in a different season with the acception of #LegendsOfTomorrow but I like to see a villain who becomes a dangerous threat to the city not to destroy but try to take over. One actress I love to see try to do that and be a challenge to Melissa Benoist is #JaneLevy. she's been in movies like Don't Breathe and most recently #MonsterTrucks. I think she would make such a recurring villain for the new season and I think that she would have such fun working with the cast and depending on the DC Supergirl based villain she could be acting as. I like to see her guest star on the show and as the sophomore season is almost at it's end and as much as we seen more older female villains this season I love to see a little younger actresses become a challenge to Kara this season and at least one who effects her emotionally the same way that Savitar and Prometheus did with Barry and Oliver. This is something I like to see happen with Kara at some point next season

Hmm... this thread seems to be evolving into "what new face would you like to see on Supergirl next season"?
OK - I'll bite! Here's my recommendation for Maggie's niece next season:
You see, we have a real-life Latina celebrity as a student at my school this year. Her name is Alison Garcia, and she's a veteran TV actor in her native country of Colombia! (She actually came to the US to master English, so she could try out for parts on American TV.)
Here's a story (in Spanish) from "TV y Novelas", about Alison's graduation from Middle School here in Palm Beach County last year:
http://www.tvynovelas.com/co/noticias/16/05/23/Alisson-Garcia-se-gradua-en-estados-unidos/
And here's a photo of her on Nickelodeon, on the set of a Colombian 'telenovela", and also a couple of photos of her in class and relaxing outside during lunch period while at school:
