What can you reveal about Alex in next week’s Supergirl? — Charlie
Well, she’s going to some dark places in the wake of learning her father is colluding with Cadmus. “It’s hard because when they realize that there’s a deeper issue going on with Jeremiah, you don’t really know where his loyalties lie,” Chyler Leigh says. “When that’s questioned and Alex gets put in a position where she’s questioning it, it becomes this deep, dark intense realizing, her coming to grips with the fact that this isn’t in her control. Basically, Alex goes head-to-head with Lillian Luthor, so it’s a really powerful episode.”

Best, most heartfelt sister scene ever!!! Aaaaa!! And honestly, I wasn't so sure Kara WAS going to stop the ship. After all... Everyone's been making a big hoopla about Alex not being one of them to try and save Kara when she goes comatose from Music Miester. So I thought, perhaps her being zapped across the galaxy might be why. lol
Other thoughts... That was the same Blake Neeley score used for Solar Flare. So so powerful.
I keep thinkin, these recent episodes were all shot during and shortly after Melissa filed for divorce. Hence, I couldn't stop thinking during that scene with Mel and Chyler...I wouldn't doubt there was some real emotion behind "Chyler" strengthening Kara here... Know what I mean?
But I DO hope they have a sister scene tying loose ends with the harsh words Alex said to Kara. I STILL hate they never addressed Alex telling Kara that Kara was the reason they lost Jeremiah. Like... whhaaat did she just say???
horizon... NICE analysis on Lena playing it "gray"...encouraging Kara to blog it. Of COURSE Kara shouldn't have blogged it. Kara preaching ethics but then goes and totally breaks journalistic ethics when it fits HER desires?? hmmm. And of COURSE J'onn should have suspended Alex... Total no brainer. I was like, "What the huh? J'onn is APPOLOGIZING to Alex??" Sorry, but that's just all kinds of wrong in the real world. lol Anyone else note, both Mon-El and Maggie helped the girls both give into what the girls WANTED and not what was necessarily the right thing to do? Again... Hmmm.
Loved Lillian telling Dean Cane, "You're the only Superman we need." bah ha ha ha ha ha
Additional Thoughts After Some Sleep: What Kara did....by writing that blog: Kara did that for nothing because in the end, it didn't help. In fact, I think it HURT the situation. Because of Kara's blog, Cadmus decided to cut their loses and ship the caught aliens off right then and there. Kara and Alex ended up LUCKY! But, BECAUSE of their "wrong" actions...they caused a much bigger problem...well...they didn't actually CAUSE it...they SPED IT UP.

Another really good episode, but quite as good as Luthors. A bit confusing as well. In 2x08, Cad tried to kill all aliens on Earth with a biological agent. How did Jerimiah convince Lillian to send them off into space in a captured alien ship?
What happened to Jerimiah after his fight with Henshaw? Did he die?
Supergirl stopping the ship from jumping to lightspeed with Alex present was a great scene. Watching Supergirl performing really impresscive physical feats like that are always a lot of fun.
It looked like the ship and Kara were in fact in space towards the end of scene. Kara can fly in space after all?

She couldn't very well stop the spaceship the way she stopped Vartox's truck; her sister might have been a bit annoyed. Stopping the spaceship was still much less work than ejecting the prison from the Solar system.

Great episode!
Lots of action. And it seemed to fit everyone in except maybe Mon El, but he's going to be the focus of the next episode, so that's okay.
Though I am a bit disappointed we didn't get to see Kevin (Fish head guy). Also this would have been the perfect opportunity to bring back professor Luzano from the first season. He's from Star Haven just like Lyra so they could have had a moment. Oh well I guess there wasn't time for that anyway.
Am I the only one who thought it was odd that Kara blogged as Kara Danvers? Wouldn't it make more sense to have the blog as Supergirl? Or maybe post a YouTube video of her in her super suit making a public service announcement. (or maybe Lena could take out an add in the tribune?)
CatCo can't fire Supergirl. She can always tell Snapper she told Supergirl CatCo wouldn't run the story, so Supergirl decided to publish it herself.
If you have two personas you might as well use both.
When Jeremiah defied Lillian, I was afraid for a moment, that Jeremiah's Robo arm was going to choke him to death, like Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows. So I'm glad that didn't happen. I'm not sure how Alex would recover from that.
Overall a solid episode

Yes, where did the ship come from? Good eyes on the altitude. There is almost as much gravity 200 miles up as there is on earth, so that should not be a problem.

Kara is sometimes quite hasty and makes decisions that could have been done differently, with good effect.

I don't see a reason why Lena would want to get Kara fired. It's to Lena's benefit if Kara is still writing positive articles about her. Lena just lost her one friend in the press.
However, one thing this has done other than get Kara fired is bring 'Kara Danvers' to Lillian's attention. So Kara Danvers has probably been added to Lillian's hit list. (it's not clear weather she knows Kara's secret or not. If not she just got a huge hint, but even if she already knew, Lillian just received a reminder that she should be keeping track of Kara's civilian identity as well as her super one)
We might get a Kara Danvers held hostage situation where Lillian goes after Kara in civilian garb and she has to figure out how to get away with out revealing her identity. (actually this can work even if Lillian knows, Lillian can use the secret to her advantage)
It will also be interesting to see how Lena reacts to something like that. Will she blame herself? Will she try to protect Kara?

It looks to me as if the writers have decided to do away with Kara Danvers and have her be Supergirl full-time, in spite of what Superman told her at the start of the season.
Kara has been fired and there is no walking that back and no do-overs. Her career as a reporter is done. So she either needs to get another job fast -- presumably her apartment, utilities, and food aren't free -- or she needs to get a job with the Daily Planet. I can't see either of those things happening, so the alternative is to do away with the Danvers identity altogether and just be Supergirl. She asked James why Clark didn't just be Superman all the time. He replied that he still had to pay rent or words to that effect.
I'm interested to see how this plays out. A lot of the excitement this week is focused on the Mon-El plot coming up. But Kara having been fired looks like an underrated big deal in the making.

I beg to differ. Remember later, we have an episode called Kara Danvers, Ace Reporter. I'm going to guess that she either becomes a blogger or somehow lands back at CatCo or somewhere else.

Lena is brilliant, and had know the consequences of getting caught. I'll go 1 further, Snapper is a member of checkmate with her and she tipped him off about danvers.com. Internet is pretty big and he found out in like 12 hours after she blobbed it.

Snapper was within his rights to fire Kara for what she did. Cat and James have the authority to hire her back but I don't think it should be that easy. Kara could freelance and with help from James learn how to be a better reporter. She's got to stop using Supergirl as her only source. This is actually a really good use for James as it's something he knows a lot about. I'm sure CatCo uses freelancers and James as acting CEO would have the authority to use Kara's work in that capacity. Snapper won't like James overriding him and using Kara's work but if it's good Snapper won't have grounds not to use it. This way Kara can show Snapper she's learned from her mistake and deserves a second chance. The "Ace Reporter" episode could be about Kara putting everything Snapper told her together in a freelance article. As Supergirl Kara has to go with her instincts and do what she thinks is right but as a reporter she can't just write what she thinks without verifiable information. Learning trust but verify may help her be a better superhero too.

Well in order for it to be useful at all, a lot of people would have had to see it, so the fact that he found it shouldn't be too surprising, (particularly if he monitors newsblogs) which is another reason why posting as Supergirl would be a better way to go. Supergirl, would attract more attention, and thus more clicks than Kara Danvers.
